DoScience Workshops: The Art and Science of Kite Making and Kite Flying, Build Your Own Rube Goldberg Machine, and The Art and Maths of Weaving with Natural Fibres

Breaking away from formal teaching methods, DoScience takes science outside the classrooms to provide experiential learning opportunities, sparking curiosity and innovation in children. There is considerable science that goes into the making of kites and having them take flight – this workshop will introduce kids to new concepts and ways of design thinking, through experimention with making and creating. In the second workshop, kids can explore the world of Mechanics by building their own Rube Goldberg machine. Using natural fibres, such as coconut and palm, the third workshop will offer a hands-on way to experience basic concepts in geometry and number theory through weaving.
